Information – Accommodation, Food & Drink and Bike Shops/Hire

Camping podsAlong the Lakes & Dales Loop there is a range of places to stay including hotels, bunk houses, campsites, B&B’s and hostels.

Please refer to the Service Provider map to find out where they located, so you can plan your visit accordingly. Cyclists are encouraged to follow the route in an anticlockwise direction.

To note: some establishments will have received ‘Cyclists Welcome’ accreditation to provide extra facilities and services, such as secure bike storage, provision to dry wet clothing and gear, bike washing facilities, useful information/advice etc.

On the map are also bike shops and bike hire providers not just on/close to the route but also slightly wider afield in Cumbria, in order to give you the options to plan your trip most effectively.

There are a number of companies that also provide a range of back-up services for walkers and cyclists following long distance walking trails or cycle routes in Britain, moving baggage door to door from hotels and B&Bs. Services generally run from April to October. They may also be able to help plan journeys and accommodation needs, as well as pick-ups en-route. Where they are willing to operate will likely vary depending on their location. What size vehicles/trailers they have in their fleet will vary and therefore favour either smaller or larger groups.

And there are a range of tour operators that provide guided, tailor made or group tours.

We are working hard with local service providers to encourage more facilities for cyclists along the route, with a view to continually improving the Lakes & Dales Loop experience for users. As these come on-line we will be updated our listings.

If you come across a facility that is not yet listed we’d love to know about it, or if you are a Service Provider and would like to be listed on our map:  please get in touch. NB – ideally we will be listing accommodation providers within one mile either side of the route.
