Royal Oak
We currently have 3 En-suite B&B rooms, and one Garden view Suite with En-suite Bathroom, all offering a warm and cosy country cottage feel with traditional Oak beams and various views of the surrounding countryside. This makes us a great place whether your looking for a relaxing getaway in the Lake District or a place to lay your head after a hard days hiking, cycling or kayaking, whichever takes your fancy your sure to find The Royal Oak a warm, pleasant place to stay.
Our rooms are all spacious, but with a cosy homely feel with Oak beams and pleasant soft furnishings. All have Tea & Coffee making facilities, Colour TV’s with Freeview and DVD players, Hairdryer, Iron & Ironing Board and your usual B&B finishing touches, we even leave something on your pillow for those long Fell hikes. Free WIFI is also available in the rooms.
The most important meal of the day is Breakfast, especially if you planning a day of exploring the Lakes. All our room rates include Full English Breakfast made with local ingredients, however there is also Cereal, Porridge and the chef is even happy to just make beans on toast, or maybe a boiled egg if that’s all you fancy before heading out. We can even provide Packed Lunches upon request for a small Fee.
We serve fresh home-cooked food daily. All of our meat is sourced from our Local Butcher Hutchinsons of Greenodd who sources his meat from Local Farms, sometimes it may even be is own hand-reared stock. All of our vegetables are sourced from a Mcclures of Windermere and our bread is delivered from Grange Bakery. There is a regularly changing Specials Board, which features a variety of home-cooked dishes. Our menu features a variety of home-cooked dishes, including traditional Lake District favourite Cumberland Sausage, a Pie of the Day and Homemade Burger, along with Vegetarian dishes.
Sunday Roasts are available every Sunday with a choice of 3 meats, all locally sourced, home-cooked with all the trimmings you would expect to find on a traditional Sunday Roast. We have a homemade Vegetarian Nut Roast available with Vegetarian Gravy and all the trimmings, as well as having Gluten Free Gravy available upon request.
We offer fresh Sandwiches every Lunchtime between 12-3pm with a delicious choice of fillings.
